Novelty: Sena Outlander, the first true adventure helmet with intercom 100% integrated

We all know the scenario on a hiking trail or on an adventure trip: the group stretching on the slopes, a failed branch line, or the buddy from behind who gets caught by a rut. So far, the solution has been to graft an intercom with sometimes dubious aerodynamic shapes onto the side of its off-road helmet. Sena changes the situation by presenting theOutlander, its very first Adventure helmet designed, drawn and manufactured from the outset with its own on-board communication technology.
Here’s what to take away from this new Swiss knife from the Trail/Aventure segment.

Communication: the Ultimate Mesh 3.0 & Cellular Network Combo
The real strength of the Outlander lies in its versatility in connection. Sena integrates its best technologies so that you never lose contact, regardless of the relief:
- Mesh Intercom 3.0: for group outings (up to 24 drivers in private, and an unlimited number in open mode). The range is up to 2 km in open terrain, ideal on large slopes.
- Wave Intercom: This is the big novelty. Through the cellular network via the dedicated application, the scope becomes unlimited. Substantial bonus: This technology enables seamless multi-brand compatibility.
- Premium audio and AI: the Headphones Embed Speakers Harman Kardon 40 mm and offers artificial intelligence noise reduction (AINR) on the microphone to filter wind and engine noise.

The trekking highlight: With 20 hours of autonomy in conversation and a function Safe Power to power the helmet via an external source (an external battery in the jacket or a 12V plug on the bike), you are ready for the steps of several days without fear of battery failure.
Design: a real trail helmet that adapts to the terrain
The Outlander is not a road helmet on which a visor has simply been screwed. It is a modular product designed for recreational enduro and committed trail running.
If the pace accelerates and you start sweating, the main screen disassembles quickly (even with the visor in place) using manual screws. You can then use the helmet with an off-road mask/glasses. In terms of comfort, Sena opted for a semi-oval shape and a fabric interior coating COOLMAX® fast drying, indispensable when knitting in technical paths.
Ergonomics have also been designed for the green motorcycle: the controls are carried out via a four-button panel with a central joystick and buttons dedicated to Mesh and Wave modes. It is simple, prominent and easy to handle, even with shelled enduro gloves.

Security: Fiberglass and Smart LED Lights
Under paint, Sena provides the fundamentals of modern protection:
- Composite glass fibre and multidensity EPS calotin.
- Strict approval ECE 22.06.
- Active visibility: the helmet incorporates LED lights at the front, but above all a intelligent rear lamp equipped with an accelerometer. The latter automatically switches to the ‘emergency braking lamp’ mode during high decelerations. A real plus to reassure the one who rides right behind you in the dust.

Freenduro’s opinion
Sena taps just by eliminating all the small galleys of the classic intercoms added after the fact on her helmet: no casing that protrudes on the side (which avoids hanging it in the undergrowth branches), no threads that travel under the foams, and above all a perfect weight distribution to avoid pulling on the cervicals during tremors on the track. Offered at the rate of 549 € (available in matte black or glossy white, from S to XXL), the Outlander is up against the high-end helmets on the market, plus connectivity and LED security. For long-distance hiking enthusiasts who like to ride connected without taking the lead with complex facilities, this is a serious option to check off your shopping list.
Sena Outlander price and availability
The Sena Outlander is offered at the recommended public rate of 549 €. As this is a novelty that has just landed on the market, it is now primarily found on Amazon (directly within the official Sena shop). Don't panic if you prefer your usual creameries: the helmet should arrive very quickly at other specialist brands and motorcycle dealers in France.
