Sena 60S: update that turns your intercom into a remote control for GoPro and Insta360

By Jack Dancède , on 19 September 2025 , updated on 19 September 2025 - 6 minutes to read

Sena, the undisputed leader in communication systems, has redefined standards with its 60S intercom. With revolutionary technology for unlimited reach, Harman Kardon sound and artificial intelligence, it is the ultimate tool for bikers. And as if that were not enough, a recent update turns it into the perfect remote control for your action camera.

The Sena 60S is not just a development, it is a real leap forward. It addresses the oldest problem of group bikers: loss of connection due to distance. Thanks to a combination of state-of-the-art technologies, it promises to keep in touch, no matter where your teammates are.

60S Wave IntercomTM: Communication without any limit of scope

The real innovation of the 60S lies in its technology Wave IntercomTM. For the first time, a motorcycle intercom uses VoIP (Voice over IP) via the cellular network. Concretely, as long as you have network coverage, you can communicate with an unlimited number of bikers, without ever worrying about distance (no distance limits).

To ensure flawless communication, the 60S intelligently combines the Mesh IntercomTM 3.0 and VoIP. If you are out of reach of the Mesh network, the system automatically switches over to the cellular network via Wave. As soon as the Mesh signal is accessible again, the intercom returns, ensuring a smooth transition and an uninterrupted conversation.

Premium sound and AI at your service

Audio quality is at the heart of the 60S experience. Sena collaborated with the experts of Harman Kardon to integrate new 40 mm loudspeakers. The result is a sound of exceptional clarity and power, with an improved volume of 130 % compared to previous generations, ideal for music as well as for conversations.

Artificial intelligence is also on the sidelines, with advanced noise reduction filtering out parasitic sounds for crystal clear exchanges. The AI voice commands allow the aircraft to be piloted without ever letting go of the handlebars, increasing safety.

NEW September 2025: Full control of your action camera

This is the latest novelty that will delight motovloggers and content creators. A software update radically simplifies the use of action cameras:

  • Universal pairing in seconds: Simply put your camera (GoPro or otherwise) into Bluetooth pairing mode and the 60S instantly detects it. Once connected, the intercom directly records the sound of your microphone and conversations on the video.

  • Deep integration with the Insta360 X5: For the owners of this camera, the 60S becomes a complete remote control. The intercom buttons enable the camera to be switched on/off, recording to be started/stopped and mode to be changed, all without leaving the road of the eyes.

Insta360 X5
With the Insta360 X5, integration with the SENA 60S buttons allows direct control of the camera. Turn on or off, start or stop a recording, switch between photo and video mode... everything is controlled from the intercom, without letting go of the road.

Bluetooth pairing with your Gopro or Insta 360 simplified

No more complex manipulations. The new coupling procedure is disconcertingly simple:

  1. Activate Bluetooth pairing mode on your action camera.

  2. Start the search from your Sena 60S intercom.

  3. That’s all. Both devices are connected in seconds.

The main advantage is that this connection makes it possible to record directly the sound of your microphone, but also the conversations of your friends via the intercom (Mesh or Bluetooth), directly on the audio track of your video. Finish the tedious audio editing! In addition, you will be able to use the voice commands of your camera (if equipped) through the microphone of your headset.

This new feature is compatible with the vast majority of cameras on the market. This software update is available now. For detailed procedure, Sena invites users to consult the Pages 22 and 23 of the 60S User Guide.
