This is the historical standard, present on 90% Motorcycle park (roadsters, customs, scooters, vintage motorcycles, enduro, etc.). They are recognized by their high weight. They are sturdy and resistant to the cold, making them ideal for motorcycles sleeping outdoors or urban daily commutes. The trap? They discharge naturally over time. If you leave your bike 3 weeks without moving, even in summer, it loses its ability.

Lithium Battery (LiFePO4)

He is the star of the performance. Standard on modern enduros (KTM, Sherco...) to gain weight, we also find it more and more on track bikes and hypersportives (Ducati Panigale, etc.). They are ultra-light and hold the load better over time. Reverse of the medal: if you forget to cut off the contact or if an accessory drains the battery below a critical threshold, it may become unrecoverable without a specific charger.

How to maintain your motorcycle battery?

Forget about the old grandfather car charger hanging out at the bottom of the garage: it sends an amperage too strong (often >10A) that will “cook” your small motorcycle battery (usually between 4Ah and 14Ah).
