Faced with the surge in prices for several months, it seemed relevant to us today to make a guide to the purchase of enduro tyres, by offering you a comparison of the selling prices of FIM enduro tyres of several brands.

Consumable par excellence, we do not teach you anything by telling you that enduro tyres represent a significant budget for the year. In addition, over the last two years, between shortages of raw materials and an increase in the cost of energy, there has been a significant increase (and worldwide) Price of motorcycle tyres. Tyre manufacturers have already made price increases since 2021 (between 10 and 20%) but this is not about to stop, as some are announcing further increases before the end of this year (for, according to them: be able to cope with soaring energy prices).

Our top 3 best enduro tires 

1 :  Metzeler MCE 6 Days Extreme – The reference tyre in competition, offering exceptional grip (especially on the corner with the front tyre) and excellent resistance.

2 : Michelin Enduro Medium 1 – High-end performance on all types of land, but a higher price which deprives it of first place.

3 :  Mitas Terra Force-EF Super Light (1 green stripe) – a versatile tyre with excellent value for money. The Mitas 1 green stripe tyre offers excellent motor skills and good comfort at the angle.

Michelin enduro Medium 1 

The famous and acclaimed Michelin Medium Tire which was to disappear in favor of the Medium 2, finally made its return to the Michelin catalog and therefore made its return online. Given the general dissatisfaction of the drivers with the Medium 2, Michelin therefore took the (wise) decision to restart the manufacture of the Medium 1.

Michelin enduro Medium 2 

Since the end of October 2024, Michelin has unveiled the Enduro Medium tyre 2 This replaces the Enduro Medium 1 tyre. This medium 2 is a brand new enduro tyre from the Auvergnate brand. This Medium 2, which has a completely new profile of crampons (see here the details about this tire) is designed to outperform the competition through improved performance on mixed terrain.

The problem with this Michelin Medium 2 is the First field returns are not very good and many drivers are calling for the return of the Michelin Medium tyre... 

Metzeler ECM 6 DAYS EXTREME

Another excellent tyre that is comfortable in any type of terrain (this is what you would expect from a real enduro tyre) with a very good grip. Rather easy to assemble, it will just be criticised for being in some cases a little less resistant than the Mitas. Me rear tyre Metzeler 6 Days extreme is very versatile, as it offers very good traction whatever the type of terrain and the weather conditions (mud, or dry).

Mitas Terra force EF Super Light

The Mitas TERRA FORCE-EF Super light – with a green stripe – is the new reference from Mitas. This tire approved enduro (unlike the TERRA FORCE- EH Super soft – double green stripes – which is not approved and is more intended for the practice of hard-enduro) is relatively flexible, but with carcass very solid (which holds well at low pressure). This Terras Force-EF Super Light offers excellent adhesion on all surfaces.

Dunlop Geomax EN91

This new Geomax EN-91 enduro tyre (since October 2019) is Dunlop's response to Michelin Medium. This Geomax EN-91 FIM is a more versatile FIM tyre than the previous version. From the very beginning, the Dunlop Geomax EN91 was designed to try to maximise grip on all types of terrain, but in particular on rocky surfaces with precarious grip, in short, to perform well when the tyre is under heavy stress.
Many drivers emphasize the remarkable efficiency of this Geomax EN91 and especially the front tire that has an incredible grip even in turns. It should be noted that the USA team drivers who won the ISED in 2019 were equipped with these Dunlop Geomax EN-91 tyres.

Borilli Racing 7 Days Enduro tyres are specially designed for enduro competitions and have FIM Quality Product homologation.  These Borilli enduro tyres were developed in collaboration with enduro world champion Alex Salvini. Regulations for approved enduro tyres:

In enduro, the use approved tyres is a strict regulatory requirement, whether in competition or simply for hiking. 
Enduro tyres must meet the standards established by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), which imposes a maximum height of cleats of 13 mm in order to limit the impact on soils and preserve natural paths. In addition to this sports homologation, the tires must absolutely be approved for use on open roads (marking E-mark or DOT) in order to enable the traffic on connecting portions open to public traffic.
